“…only a third of our drilling results are back and I am looking forward to seeing the remainder of the results…”

Much has been achieved in the year since Lexington Gold was readmitted to the AIM market with ambitions of multiple exploration milestones for its assets in North and South Carolina.

The four projects are situated on the Carolina Super Terrane the site of the first documented gold discovery in the U.S. in 1799,  and home now to  OceanaGold Corporation’s world class Haile Mine.

February’s investor update celebrated one of those milestones – the completion of the reverse circulation drilling programme at the Loflin side of the Jones-Keystone-Loflin project, and the mobilisation of a robustly repaired drilling rig to the Jones-Keystone side.

Chief executive Dr. Bernard Olivier is eagerly awaiting the sample results from the most recent campaign at Loflin, and to expedite those results has given the task of the gold assaying to a Nevada-based laboratory with the capacity, time and the credentials to do so.

Olivier’s delivery is dry, but he’s proven up resources elsewhere so dry doesn’t mean dull. “We continue to be excited about the significant sulphide and alteration zones intersected at both Loflin and the Loflin South extension. We believe that such intersections could potentially contribute significantly to an enhanced JORC mineral resource estimate, originally established and reported following our Phase 1 drilling in 2021.”

The company’s overall RC campaign was one that covered 5000 meters.  That’s coming to a conclusion and includes the maiden drill results of the uncharted Carolina Belle asset.  A third of the sample results are back and Olivier is hopeful of a “significant future” for Carolina, with the remaining results determining the design of the resource drilling to come.

Listen to Bernard explain to Sarah Lowther about milestones achieved, potential resource upgrades and the the earning in deal that the company is particularly chuffed about.
