Canada Calling – Panther Metals Positions for CSE Listing, Winston Resource and Potential New VMS Camp Discovery
“…We’re going into an ultra-active growth phase…”
The anecdote that the rented accommodation for the boss of Panther Metals Plc was unliveable when he attended the PDAC mining conference in Canada wasn’t good, but as he wasn’t there much it was less of a sad story.
Chief executive Darren Hazelwood was in back-to-back meetings at this event which was the biggest ever with over 32,000 attendees and in essence was the North American version of the previous month’s Indaba mining conference in Cape Town. The attendance at both events mirrors the renewed interest in the mining sector exemplified in the resultant meaningful high-level conversations. Indeed Hazelwood and his chairman found themselves engaging with an interested party wanting to discuss Panther’s assets and not the event at large.
It has long been flagged that the UK-listed entity is seeking a Canadian listing. It makes sense for multiple reasons. The company’s projects are Canada focused and the market there offers the advantageous tax financing tool that is flow-through shares which have yet to be fully adopted by the UK market.
The dual listing on the CSE exchange is imminent. “The tax benefits mean that you get a significant premium to your existing price with bringing that capital in,” says Hazelwood. “It’s a dream scenario for investors, for the corporates.”
The expected newsflow from Panther in the coming months could be material. Listing aside, there’s the anticipated Mineral Resource Estimate on Winston with its near-term cash generation polymetallic tailings potential, and the ongoing exploration at the Wishbone asset in Obonga.
As Darren explains to Sarah Lowther in this video interview: “Wishbone has the potential to be the initial discovery of a new VMS camp in Canada. I’ve said that over the last three or four years and not one person has ever questioned the validity of frankly that outrageous statement because it’s real.”
