The World’s Largest High Margin Underground PGE-Nickel Play? Think URU Metals
“…Zeb is our flagship project. We have always believed Zeb to be world class…”
While the U.K. navigates several heatwaves, the weather in South Africa is somewhat cooler at this time of year.
“Winter is a perfect time to explore because it’s dry and cool and the weather is super stable,” says Richard Montjoie, VP Exploration for URU Metals. The company’s flagship Zeb asset is located in Limpopo, and Montjoie says investors can expect a steady flow of news in the next quarter as URU continues to develop the project during cooler climes. The Company have also recently announced that it has engaged Spectrem Air Proprietary Ltd to conduct an approximately 736 line-kilometre SpectremPlus™ airborne time domain electromagnetic survey over the Company’s flagship Zeb Nickel Project.
The recent two-hole drill campaign, while small, proved a company theory that there was continuity of nickel-bearing rocks. In fact the results confirmed higher grade nickel sulphides across multiple zones, the type that TSX-listed neighbour Ivanhoe at its Ivanplats project enjoys some five kilometres away. Montjoie describes its operation as one of the world’s largest, highest margin underground nickel PGE projects containing over 10 billion pounds of sulphide nickel.
That bodes well for Zeb. “The extent of target two is potentially enormous, unlocking the potential to host high-grade nickel PG mineralization right across the project area,” says Montjoie.
With so much positive data what Zeb has is no longer based on a historic hunch, and further confirmation about its potential will hopefully be proven by the company’s upcoming airborne magnetic survey which “will allow us to optimally use our drilling budget and hopefully hit the targets dead on first around.”
As Richard explains to Sarah Lowther in this video interview Zeb is shaping up nicely. Shareholders getting involved at this stage come in at pre-resource valuation just ahead of an anticipated re-rate.
