A new road for Jade
“…Some investors wouldn’t be able to invest direct into their assets, but by coming through Jade, that opens up the door to a much wider group of potential investors…”
Jade Road Investments Ltd has changed its mandate. The previously diversified business once had exposure to private equity style investments including magnesium dolomite mining, luxury properties in Japan and MedTech.
Now through its high-octane partnerships with businesses including Unique Property Group, Jade is now targeting investments in the £12 billion U.K. assisted living sector with a longer-term strategy to explore opportunities in luxury properties in the U.K. and international markets such as Dubai.
The phrase ‘high octane’ is particularly relevant to Unique’s founder Lewis Hall who is known for his energetic social media marketing presence and determination to deliver high digit returns.
Jade’s chairman John Croft shares that vision and explains the synchronicity that partnerships with Unique and WestOne Development Group brings. “What Jade brings to the table is a publicly quoted company with all of the rules and regulations around it and the corporate governance and the transparency, and that is what is attractive to the Unique Property Group because they can bring investors into Jade. Some investors wouldn’t be able to invest direct into their assets, but by coming through Jade, that opens up the door to a much wider group of potential investors.”
Meanwhile Unique is out raising new capital to be brought into Jade to make those property investments. As John explains to Sarah Lowther in this video interview, “We expect that we will be raising reasonably significant amounts of capital over the next 12 months. We want to be in a position where we can deploy capital fairly quickly. We don’t want to be sitting on cash. We want our capital to be put to work so that we can start to generate attractive returns for our shareholders.”
